Biomodification, GM foods, a new movie called Splice that creates a crazy, world-dominating half human. Genetic modification gets a really bad rap, but science isn’t about taking over the world (we’ll leave that to corrupt bankers), science is about pushing intellectual boundaries. Sometimes, it’s for good.

The idea of bomb-sensing plants is a bit on hold, but we at Science in Seconds don’t think this is over. Hopefully, science can resurrect brilliant ideas like bomb-sensing plants and do some good in this world.

This is amazing! I hope we can come up with a way to do this using something like E.Coli (or maybe something less toxic). That way we can spread it around without potentially adding a foreign plant species to an ecosystem. Though, the plants are a hell of a lot better than mines...

@ Firesong. The plan is to disperse the seeds by crop-dusting airplanes. So simple and so effective. Let's hope the plan can revive and get some interest from the military-industrial complex.
