Apparently the world just isn't big enough for TWO awesome particle racetracks: the Tevatron, the world's second most powerful particle collider, will be shut off in October 2011, leaving the Large Hadron Collider to claim all the fame and glory.

But what is the LHC? It's big. It's circular. It's helping scientists see the very fabric of our universe. And...it's cooler than deep space. Literally.

But some believe it will cause the formation of micro-black holes that will swallow the Earth - and with such fervor that lawsuits were filed. Is this keen insight, or complete insanity? Science in Seconds investigates.

Yeah LHC. Brain Cox (works on LHC) but is also trying to use his favorite subject: curiosity, to demonstrate why we should spend more on science.
